Sequins is a style that just won't quit. Gold, black, silver, blue, and even nude -it's hard to make a fashion faux pas with sequins. From runway to realway, the style lets you go glam with a loud statement. And what's not to love about standing out? With this look you won't be able to hide from the paparazzi or your ex, but that's not always a bad thing.
I think that's why we love it. I fell in love with the look when I saw comedy star, Whitney Cummings wearing the dress that launched a thousand photos on The Roast of Donald Trump. She looked fabulous and gave those comedians a run for their money.
But Whitney wasn't the only celeb to don the Alice & Olivia black 3/4 length sleeve sequin mini. Miss Kim Kardashian wore it to the launch of her SoHo Dash boutique in New York City in 2010.
So where can you find it? Everywhere. Just about every outlet carries sequin apparel and accessories this season from designers to department stores. Speaking of Kardashian, Kim's very own line at Sears offers a variety of sequin pieces from jackets to purses and dresses.
And if that's not to your liking, Express has just launched a line for fall/winter with of course, sequins. With skirts, dresses, and even shoes, there's something for everyone.
And I must mention boutiques like Nich in West Chester, PA who sells sequin TOMS (in black, gold, silver, and pink) among other pieces from shirts to skirts and shorts.
But my favorite look so far this season is definitely the sequin shorts which Selena Gomez wore recently to the Hollywood premiere of The Thing. Credit: Forever 21.
I think I might have to start shopping for something sequinned for New Year's Eve!
