Sequins, sequins, everywhere...

Sequins is a style that just won't quit.  Gold, black, silver, blue, and even nude -it's hard to make a fashion faux pas with sequins.  From runway to realway, the style lets you go glam with a loud statement. And what's not to love about standing out? With this look you won't be able to hide from the paparazzi or your ex, but that's not always a bad thing.

I think that's why we love it.  I fell in love with the look when I saw comedy star, Whitney Cummings wearing the dress that launched a thousand photos on The Roast of Donald Trump. She looked fabulous and gave those comedians a run for their money.

But Whitney wasn't the only celeb to don the Alice & Olivia black 3/4 length sleeve sequin mini.  Miss Kim Kardashian wore it to the launch of her SoHo Dash boutique in New York City in 2010.

So where can you find it? Everywhere. Just about every outlet carries sequin apparel and accessories this season from designers to department stores.  Speaking of Kardashian, Kim's very own line at Sears offers a variety of sequin pieces from jackets to purses and dresses.

And if that's not to your liking, Express has just launched a line for fall/winter with of course, sequins.  With skirts, dresses, and even shoes, there's something for everyone.

And I must mention boutiques like Nich in West Chester, PA who sells sequin TOMS (in black, gold, silver, and pink) among other pieces from shirts to skirts and shorts.

But my favorite look so far this season is definitely the sequin shorts which Selena Gomez wore recently to the Hollywood premiere of The Thing. Credit: Forever 21.

Style steal...

Sometimes you just can't give up a good steal.  I was out at the local mall and came across this H&M faux-fur waistcoat.  It was only $14.95 and from their Winter Collection.  It comes in white, has a hook-and-eye fastener and is lined. It caught my eye right away and when I saw the price, there was no way I was walking out without it.  FYI: They run small because they are fit for H&M junior ladies (which I was told).  I'm normally a 2 or a 4 and I got a 6! Go grab yours now.  You're welcome  :)

Jungle fever...

Do you have jungle fever? It seems like everyone these days does.  Almost every line of apparel this fall has some sort of animal print in it.  Bags, belts, shoes, dresses, pants, tees, suits, even bedding--it's clear the animals have taken over the runway.  But who doesn't want to go wild with a little animal print? Maybe you don't want to wear an entire leopard on your body but you might crave that tiny bit of print that screams, "I'm wild and free."  I know I do.  I've done it all including the bedding in my room (or what I like to call, the animal lair).   The best part about this trend is that you can do it in so many ways, you can't go wrong.  Whether you've decided to prey on some faux-zebra for your heels or decided to go all-out predator in a cheetah dress to your homecoming formal...you've got the fever.  Celebs like the Kardashians are making it a signature style for this season in their new Kardashian Kollection for Sears and K-Dash for QVC.  But I've found the animals elsewhere too.  Local boutiques, consignment shops, or stores like H&M, Charlotte Reusse, Forever 21, and Wet Seal carry the print and make it affordable.  I've fallen head over heels so I decided to share some of my animal print collection.  Listen to your animal instinct and go WILD!

Underestimated...

Never underestimate the power of a consignment shop.  It just so happens on a chilly yet sunny day in the 'burbs of Philadelphia, I went wandering to waste time before happy hour and I discovered that which is known as "upscale consignment." I'm talking about your regular consignment shop located in an upper class neighborhood (in this case, West of Philadelphia).  I found the most gorgeous animal print bag for under $50.  The Giraffe print bag...all faux fur, all REAL leather, absolutely made my week.  When you're frustrated with looking at all the right places, look for the obscure, the hidden, the last place checked.  I've been searching for an animal print bag for months and I'm so happy I decided to pass on those cheap-looking wannabes. When you're just not satisfied, go to your local vintage, consignment, or second-hand store...you might just find what you were looking for. Revenge is sweet...

There's so much to say about ABC's new drama, Revenge, airing Wednesdays at 10 PM--the suspense, the twists, the so carefully thought-out vengeance that Emily Thorne takes out on the people who ruined both her and her father's lives.  But most importantly, one cannot miss the luxurious fashion seen on Emily Van Camp's character and her nemesis, Victoria Grayson.  Set in East Hampton, New York, the fashion is tres chic---total Hamptons style.  Whether the women of Revenge are attending political fundraisers, Teas, or engagement parties, they are dressed to impress.  With style and elegance, these women represent New York's finest--one might call it, too GRAND to be true. I call it, love.

In this clip, Emily Van Camp who plays Emily Thorne aka Amanda Clark, she talks about her wardrobe and style on the set of ABC's Revenge.

While in New York...

While on Long Island this weekend shopping at the Roosevelt Field Mall, I saw a worker in a shoe store wearing a bright orange scarf and I fell in love.  What is better than orange for fall? I immediately began seeing orange everywhere--in store displays, in patterns on dresses, even a bright orange scarf that I also fell is love with at H&M.  The model is wearing her scarf from American Apparel. A bold statement like this paired with either simple apparel or even with mismatched colors is "in." I'm smitten :)
